Finding The Strength To Overcome Obstacles: Chris Bruce Shares His Secrets To His Success In The Real Estate World

Chris Bruce was born in  the inner city of Detroit, Michigan. He always had dreams of doing something big, but it was hard for him to get many opportunities in life to do so because at the time, there were not a lot of opportunities for kids from the inner city of Detroit. Despite this, Chris never gave up and started following his dreams at a young age.

“Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, there weren’t many opportunities for the kids in the inner city. I always had dreams of making it big one day and owning my own business. I got into real estate at the age of 21 buying my first rental property on the eastside of Detroit.” Recounts Chris.

Unfortunately, Chris got into real estate at a bad time. He began his venture right around the time of the market collapse and popping of the housing bubble. This led to major obstacles for Chris to overcome and he struggled to make ends meet due to the hardships he faced in the aftermath of the collapse.

“This all occurred in  2006 during the housing bubble. I leveraged my credit to finance the property. Unfortunately, like most I wasn’t prepared for the housing market to crash. My tenant got killed. I now had a vacant property I owned, and I couldn’t keep up with the payments anymore. I lost my rental property to foreclosure.” Remembers Chris.

Chris knew that real estate and owning his own business were his two main goals in life, so he did not give up when times got tough. He stumbled upon an opportunity two years later and was able to get back in the real estate market to continue pursuing his dream of being an entrepreneur. Although it did not work out very well, he was inspired to teach people the tools and tricks of real estate as well as create his own real estate investment company.

“Fast forward two years later, I came across an opportunity called wholesaling real estate, which allowed me to flip properties without risking my own credit, cash, or doing any manual labor. I had a lot of  struggles doing my first deal, which took me 3 months and 26 deals; I had to back out of it. I told myself one day I would teach others to ensure that they don’t make the same mistakes I make. This inspired the birth of the Virtual Flipping Riches 3.0 training where I personally coach people all across the country on how to flip houses from their computer in their spare time without risking their cash, or credit.” States Chris.

For Chris, his journey was all about staying focused on one track and continuing to go after his goals even when life was not going his way. He recommends this kind of mentality for anyone who is trying to start their own business. They should continue on one path and try and become as much of an expert as possible.

“Focus, follow one’s course until successful. Read books, get a mentor, buy that course. It will save you tons of time, and money. Mindset is super important, in my mind it’s the most important thing you have to focus on when running a business. Because you’ll have tons of challenges that will make you question yourself, and your ability. My biggest motivation was my daughter. I wanted her to live a life better than I did growing up.” Explains Chris.

In the future, Chris hopes to take his teaching to a new format: podcasts. This way he can reach more people nationwide. In addition, Chris is planning on having a bit of fun with his entrepreneurial spirit by creating a board game that will be released for all to enjoy. 

“Right now I’m working on a new podcast I’ll be launching as well as a board game I’ll be bringing to the world.” Says Chris.
