Chris Jonex is a songwriter, entrepreneur, artist, systems engineer by trade, and the mastermind behind The Jonex Empire, a business that spans from the world of technology to the music industry and beyond.

Chris’ journey began as a systems engineer, but he quickly realized the lack of opportunities in his homeland. It was then that he decided to enter the music and advertising industry, merging his technological skills with his love for music.
This bold step led Chris to develop an application software that led his company to be awarded in 2023 the award for Best in Digital and Traditional Marketing in Mexico, and Colombia.
But Chris did not stop there. His passion for music led him to register more than 8,000 songs under his authorship with ASCAP, an achievement that marked the beginning of the record label Jonex Enterprises.
This label was established in the United States and branched out to Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Andorra. His musical empire also encompasses Melon-A Studios, where the magic of recording comes to life.
On top of all of this, Chris runs Rex Films, a film production company that seeks to support independent Latino projects, showcasing the region’s talent to the world. In addition, his restaurant chain, Balboa, not only offers delicious dishes but is also a space for unique events, including cuts of meat adorned with gold, setting the standard for luxury.
Chris’ motivation for starting this empire was the need for more opportunities in his country. He set out to create them and prove that with dedication and focus, challenges can be overcome.
“Getting the industry to believe in my projects and demonstrating the value before offering the product was one of my biggest challenges,” Chris says.
Mindset played a crucial role in Chris’s success. Consistency, sacrifice, and discipline were ingrained in his mind from the beginning. His advice to those starting their own business is clear: don’t give up, as falling and getting up are fundamental parts of success.
“At 30 years old, I chose to comprehend and welcome the transition from conventional to digital, concentrating on my necessity to promote the music of my artists. This strategy turned out to be more successful than initially anticipated.” Chris comments.
The biggest hurdle he overcame was believing in himself. Chris recognizes that he wasted some time seeking external validation instead of trusting in himself and his potential.
