A storm system generated severe weather conditions Tuesday night including tornadoes, large hail and high winds in states from the South to the Upper Midwest, including areas recently devastated by tornadoes.

Severe storms brought severe weather including tornadoes and hail to Iowa, Missouri and Illinois Tuesday afternoon and overnight.

There have been 190 reports of severe thunderstorms from Nebraska to Michigan, including 9 reports of tornadoes and more than 150 reports of hail.

Tornado reports have been reported in Iowa and Illinois, with more likely in Arkansas and Missouri on Wednesday morning.

Large to giant hail (up to 10 centimeters) was also reported yesterday in Illinois and Iowa.

Two people were evacuated from a gas station in the northwestern Illinois city of Colona after a tornado ripped through there Tuesday morning, police said.

The tornado was classified as an EF2 with an estimated maximum wind of 185 km/h, the weather service said.

“The largest center of damage from today’s storm was the Shell gas station and the building directly behind it,” the Colona Police Department reported. “There are no reported injuries at this time.”
